Speaker Abstract

Biomass Fermentation During Wet Storage: How Does It Fit?

Corey Radtke
Idaho National Laboratory

Using lignocellulosic biomass for energy production will require that a large portion of the crops are harvested in a relatively wet state. The supply chain options of bringing in both dry and wet harvested biomass will be discussed with considerations for the total cost of the system, risk and reliability, as well as the feedstock quality. The discussion will focus on building sustainable biomass supply options to support 2012 and 2017 DOE programmatic goals.
