PENN STATE BIOENERGY SHORTCOURSE SERIES
Penn State's Biomass Energy Center sponsors an annual series of advanced short course training opportunities for emerging bioenergy topics. National and international experts in biomass energy are brought together to deliver the latest developments in bioenergy, and to provide an opportunity for the biomass energy industry to meet fellow stakeholders and network with other bioenergy experts.
Topics and schedules for upcoming events are posted here as they become available, as well as presentations from recent events.
For questions, or to be placed on the short course mailing list, please contact Daniel Ciolkosz at email@example.com.
This Year's Shortcourses
Wood Energy Projects for Commercial and Institutional Facilities
One Day Short Course: 21 July, 2015, State College PA
This short course will be held at the 2015 “World of Wood” Conference Register for the short course only, or for the full 5-day conference!
Registration for the one-day short course is $65 if you register by June 15 ($85 thereafter), and includes lunch, snacks, handouts, and site visit transportation.
This one day short course provides an in-depth introduction to the use of wood energy systems to provide heat or heat and power to commercial and institutional scale facilities. These “fuels for schools” type projects have proven themselves to be cost effective and popular with their owners, and many opportunities exist in the region to expand the use of renewable, sustainable wood heat in a manner that safeguards air quality and enhances the health of our forests. Come learn about system design, fuel sourcing, and successful project development, followed by a tour of a nearby wood energy facility at Penns Valley School District.
